About	Franklyn Jeffrey Lay, 73, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2022. He was born August 18, 1949 to Franklyn and Virginia (Cassel) Lay, who preceded him in death. Frank was a graduate of Ontario High School class of 1967, a graduate of The Ohio State University, and Ashland University. After obtaining his degrees, he went on to teach for 38 years. Most of those years were spent at Malabar Middle School as a multi-handicap teacher. He also spent time tutoring kids and worked for Drug and Alcohol Prevention in Morrow County. Being a teacher in and out of the classroom, Frank dedicated many hours to coaching a variety of sports- his favorite memories were of his time coaching football at Lexington and Northmor High Schools. He was a wonderful mentor to many, evening continuing the tradition or mentoring at Lexington Court Nursing Home until his passing. Frank enjoyed passing the time fishing, playing euchre, telling stories and jokes. He was happiest when he could make you laugh. Frank was a true gentleman and an all-around good guy. He will be truly missed by his sister Jennifer (Lay) and Mike Boreman, nephew Aaron and Kathy Boreman and their daughter Sloane Boreman, niece Arica Boreman and James Amos, ex-wife Donna Lay and her sons Michael Teaters, John and Jessica Teaters and their son Johnny
