Graduation Year Class of 1969
Date of Passing May 13, 2017
About Diana “Di” L. Brewer, 66, of Galion, passed away early Saturday morning, May 13, 2017, at Mill Creek Nursing Home. She was born November 22, 1950, in Mansfield, Ohio, to Leonard and Shirley (Heinberger) Schindler.

She graduated in 1969 from Ontario High School and attended The Ohio State University. Di was an animal lover and that fit perfectly with her job at Horizon Veterinary Hospital where she worked as a Veterinary Assistant for 20 years. Di also had worked as an aerobic instructor and at WalMart. She enjoyed crafting, ceramics, pottery, gardening and canning. She was a former member of Millennial Quilting Club for several years.

Although faced with the diagnosis of cancer, Di never allowed it to hinder her life. She was always thinking of others first, and her compassion and caring heart filled with generosity was her most endearing quality. Her family was most important to her and she loved each and every one of them with her whole heart. Di loved baking cookies with her grandchildren-especially on “Cookie Day”- which was celebrated each year a few weeks prior to Christmas where each of her grandchildren came to bake and decorate many dozen cookies. She was an incredible grandma who blessed each of them with many memories. She enjoyed vacationing in the warm and sunny Outer Banks each year. Her love for family knew no bounds and her unique and bright shining light lives on in so many ways.

Di is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Robert Brewer; two wonderful sons, Chad (Kerry) Brewer of Galion and Brad (Kristy) Brewer of Hartville, OH; eleven treasured grandchildren, Tayler, Ciarra, Julia, Maria, Cecilia, Eli, Jaelyn, Brevyn, Emily, Tryston and Kali; her brother, Gary (Nan) Schindler of Crestline; and best friends, Mick and Peg. She is also survived by two aunts, Penny Heinberger and Donna Heinberger; an uncle, Gary (Sue) Heinberger; a number of nieces and nephews.

She will be laid to rest in Ontario Cemetery. Contributions may be made the Humane Society of Crawford County or the Stefanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research.
