Bob graduated third in his class of 1960. He received his BS in Science, SUNY Binghamton and graduated with clinical honors from SUNY Upstate Medical School in Syracuse 1968. He joined the United States Navy in 1969 as a flight surgeon and served for two years in Pensacola, Fla. In 1971 he entered the Ophthalmology Program at Naval Hospital, San Diego and graduated in 1974. He served as staff Ophthalmologist at Camp Pendleton, Ca.until 1983, becoming Chief fo Staff. During this time he served as the personal Ophthalmologist for President Richard Nixon. In 1984 he served as Executive Officer at Naval Hospital, Long Beach,Ca. In 1985 he was named as Commanding Officer(CEO)of Naval Hospiital, Naples, Italy. In 1987 he was promoted to the rank of Rear Admiral and served seven months at the Pentagon before being assinged Commanding Officer(CEO)of the Navy's largest hospital, Naval Hospital, San Diego, Ca. Upon his retirement in 1992 he was awarded the Distinguished Service Medal, the Navy's highest peacetime award. After his retirement he served as Senior VP of Juran Institue for five years. His clients included the Nation Health Trusts of England, Ireland, Austrailia, And New Zealand. In addition, he sreved as the Primray Consultant for Quality Outcomes to the Mayo Clinic. From 1997 to 1999 he served as Medical Director of the Avera Healthcre System in South Dakota. From 2007-2009 Bob served as Pesident, Navy League, Naples, Italy.
