About	John joined the Navy while attending Odessa College. He was trained as a corpsman and assigned to the 2nd Bn., 5th Marines 69-70 Corpsman 1st platoon 69-70a Marine Unit in Vietnam. He is credited with saving the lives of his fellow Marines and kept in touch with them throughout his life. Upon return from Vietnam, he enroled at the University of North Texas and graduated with a degree in Fine Arts. His artworks included sculpture, paintings, pottery and other avenues he found interesting. Later he moved to Seagraves, TX and opened "Main Street Pizza" where he made great pizza and many friends. John loved vintage vehicles. He collected quite an array which he entered in local car shows. He is missed by family and the many friends he made through his life.
