Anthony L. Easterling

Class of 1978

After graduating from The Northwestern Senior High School in 1978 Anthony went to college at UMES for two years and then transfered to Morgan State University due to him being close to his mother Mrs. Delois Easterling who was sick. Anthony felt a calling to serve his country and entered the United States Marine Corps following his close friend Nathaniel Tyrone Carter "78 and his cousin Thomas Jones aka TJ class of 80 While in the USMC Anthony excelled to the rank of SGT and traveled the world playing Basketball on the All Marine Basketball Team & Track & Field team he was called to duty in 1983 in Beirut lebanon and was a survivor of the Embassy Bombing. Anthony later Left the USMC and moved to Delaware where he graduated from Delaware technical & Community College. While there he was distinguished in being the first African American Student Government President. After graduating Anthony work in various banks and then was employed by the Wilmington Police Department where he is still serving after 18 years of service he has earned 2 merit lifesaving awards 5 distinguish service medals and 6 merit awards. Anthony is the lead swimming instructor for the departments Marine Dive Rescue Unit and was the original member upon it inception. Anthony is currently a Master Corporal (4) and has been in many units such as Special Operations Division, Uniformed Services Division, DOCV Drug Organized Crimes & Vice Division, Downtown Business Riverfront Development District , and most recently attached to the United States Secret Service Wilmington Field office as designated Agent for the VP Biden Detail for 4 years. Anthony is now assigned back to Patrol Division where he serves as House Sgt for his platoon. Anthony has many certifications but two of which he is proud of most is CPTED Advanced Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design, And obtaining a Cross-Designation as a ICE Agent (Immigrations Customs & Enforcement Agent) with the Department of Homeland Security. Through it all he has always kept his High School Motto in heart "To Strive , To Seek , To Find but Never Yield". Anthony has traveled the world and often still does and He smiles bright when he talks about his two lovely daughters Aonyae Easterling 15 year old & Aryana Delois Easterling 11 years old. Anthony still prefers to be called Chick-n-Wing he ran track and swam and played football for Northwestern and he will always tell you . The best years of my life was meeting and being coached by Mr. Jim Ward, Mr Larry brown, Mr Raymond Merovitz , and Mr John Bowman we all stood by each other and was revered by many because you can't hide that Wildcat Pride. Anthony still visits Baltimore on a regular basis as his family is still rooted in this great city.
