About	Martin Southard STOKESDALE â€” Marty Southard, 49, completed his earthly journey on June 15, 2009. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday June 18, 2009 at Stokesdale United Methodist Church. Marty was quite a special man, a loyal friend, a trusted son and loving brother. Loving the outdoors and his independence, he spent most of his working career at Stokesdale Electric Co. (working with his dad), Thomas Stanley Grading and Hauling, Inc. and Gastown, Inc. He was a 1978 graduate of Northwest Guilford High School, and held a degree in Electrical Construction and Maintenance from GTCC. Marty had a servant's heart and a desire to share his unique enthusiasm with everyone he met. For 18 years he shared his passion through service in the Stokesdale Fire Department as a firefighter, Lieutenant, and member of the Board of Directors. If you knew Marty, you loved him. Preceded in death by his dad, Leon Southard. Marty is survived by his mother Louise Southard; his brother Randy Southard and wife LaBreeska; nephew Justin Southard and wife Katie; niece Brisha Southard and friend Todd Compton; special loves of his life, Di-Ann Williams and Briana Hand; and several uncles, aunts, and cousins. Visitation with the family will follow the service at the church.
