About	Ted Michael Hendry 1965- 2022. Ted passed away unexpectedly at his home in Renton Washington on April 23rd at the age of 56. He was born in Bellevue Washington on October 11 1965 to George and Joan Hendry. He grew up in Bellevue and graduated from Newport High School. Upon graduation from high school he attended Washington State University where he received a Bachelor Degree in Business with focus on computer programing. Ted joined the Boeing corporation upon graduation following in his father’s footsteps who had a long career with Boeing. Ted advanced steadily at Boeing becoming a well respected expert in Computer Aided Design software. He excelled professionally and helped develop new capabilities keeping Boeing’s CAD systems on the leading edge technologies. He was very knowledgeable in the complexities of the systems and was often called upon to lead the conversions of new systems into the engineering and manufacturing environments. Ted was always excited about the development of new planes and loved working in the aviation industry. In Ted’s younger years he competitively raced sailboats. He developed a strong comradery with all his teammates and enjoyed racing throughout Puget Sound and even some races to Canada. Ted would routinely charter sailboats in the summer and take his friends and brothers to the San Juan islands. Ted was very conscientious captain keeping everyone safe and directing his motley crew to execute his commands. He was a great teacher and everyone learned the correct way to sail. The San Juans were one of his favorite places on earth. Ted’s true calling was as a fisherman. He fished almost every river in Washington. If it swam Ted could catch it. He really enjoyed Salmon fishing whether it was on a river or in Puget Sound or one of his many trips to Alaska. Ted could also be very content sitting on his dock at his home on Lake Desire catching his dinner for the evening or just enjoying the sunset with his dog Viking. Ted had a fishing rod for every occasion and was very specific about what lures and rods to use for each environment. Ted was always a stickler for regulations and treated the environment with great respect. Captain “Teddy” enjoyed powerboats and owned several boats with his brothers. The first powerboat he owned he named “Vamanos” which is how Ted lived, always ready for the next adventure. Ted had a family tradition of going to the San Juan’s each summer with his friends and family. He loved to crab and was always searching out new locations to deliver for that night’s feast. Ted loved to snowmobile in the winter and would visit his brother in New Mexico each year and tear up the high country snow. He was not as good at snowmobiling as he was a sailor or fisherman and would routinely need help digging out. Growing up Ted always had a motorcycle, routinely disturbing the neighborhood with his dirt bike. In high school he got his first Mustang. Ted liked going on car rallies around the Puget sound with his current 72 Mustang. He was an active supporter of the Thunder Dome car museum charities where he kept his car in pristine condition. Ted is survived by his sister Melanie Wasankari, brothers Tim Hendry and Rod Hendry, nephews Nathan Wasankari, Ryan Hendry, nieces Alyssa Hendry and Krystal Kovisto. Ted was great friend, colleague, brother and uncle. He was fun to be around and was always up for the next adventure. His infectious laugh and smile will be missed by many. Catholic Mass services for Ted will be held at St Madeleine Sophie parish in Bellevue on May 19th at 11am followed by a grave site service at Cedar Lawns Memorial Park in Redmond at 1pm. A celebration of Ted’s life will be held following the grave site services at the Robinswood house in Bellevue
