About	Thomas L. Miller of the Town of Newburgh, A retired Truant officer for the Newburgh Enlarged School District died Sunday, September 20, 2009 at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh Campus. He was 62. The son of the late John and Emma Brown Miller Sr. Tom was born December 8, 1946 in Newburgh Tom was a graduate of Springfield College earning a BA, Simmons College graduating with a degree in Urban Education. After college he moved to NYC and was involved in the youth mobile program. He then moved to St. Croix, Virgin Islands where he taught for seven years. He then returned to Newburgh to join the Newburgh School District where he worked to his retirement in August of 2009. He also worked during the summer for the City of Newburgh Recreation Department. Coached the Little Kickers Soccer Team and was a member of Union Presbyterian Church, Orange Lake Civic Association and the YMCA. Survivors included his wife Jane Bock Miller at home, his sons Charles E. Klahn of New River North Carolina and Thomas L. Miller Jr. and wife Jennifer of Newburgh, his brother Jack Miller and wife Ann of Auburn, NY, his granddaughter, Carly Miller and Nieces and Nephews. The family will receive friends Saturday, September 26, 2009 from 10 to 11 am at Union Presbyterian Church 44 Balmville Rd. Newburgh, NY. Funeral service will commence 11 am at the Church with the Reverend Dave Mason officiating. Cremation will follow the service at Cedar Hill Crematory. After the service at church the family will receive friends at Orange Lake Fire House, 408 S. Plank Rd. Newburgh for a celebration of Tom's life.
