About	Duane T. Young, age 55, New Castle resident, passed away Thursday May 6, 2010 at St. Vincent Seton Specialty Hospital. He was born May 25, 1954 in Meadville, Pennsylvania a son of the late Lonnie and Ruth Taylor Young. He was raised in New Castle, Indiana and was a 1974 graduate of New Castle Chrysler High School, where he was a school mascot and “spirit man” known as Mongoose II and was very involved with Trojan Basketball and all sports. He was a member of the 1st Church of the Nazarene, and the Sons of the American Legion. He enjoyed I.U. Basketball, Colts Football, fishing, being outdoors, and sharing time with children, family, and friends. He taught 5th grade Sunday School, Bible School, and led Bible Studies. Duane is survived by: his wife, Karen Hoover Young; brother, Ricky L. Young of New Castle, Indiana; niece, Steffanie McDaniel (Fiancé Nathaniel Durbin) of New Castle, Indiana; four great-nieces, Jamica, Belynda, Skyler, and Myra; several cousins, aunts, and uncles also survive. He was preceded in death by: his parents and his brother, Steffan Young in 2002. Visitation will be 12:00 noon – 2:00 p.m. on Monday May 10, 2010 at Macer-Hall Funeral Home in New Castle, Indiana. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday May 10, 2010 at the funeral home with Rev. Danny Goddard officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hills Memory Garden.
