About Me | I'm now Disability Retired due to an auto wreck in July 2012 (I was almost finished with my dissertation in Business and Neuroscience focusing on leadership and the effects of poor leadership on both the amygdala and hippocampus), was to start an advanced math degree in November of 2012 as a prerequisite for a PhD in Physics. I am multilingual in American sign language (ASL), French, Spanish, and learning German - reviewing the rosetta stones in these languages is allowing me to relearn the English language, spell, write and speak better (priviledges that I lost in the July 2012 accident). I have photos in album section in which I have what I named "When the music Died)" Avid animal lover since a child and live on a 20+ acre horse farm with my husband Ed Kitchen. In my spare time I rode my horses every chance I got, traveled within state to ride on all the Ohio Horse trails (mostly bareback and western). Love Dressage and Highschool for horses - but prefer bareback to the formal Dressage attire and tack. Volunteered: - Project Mangement Institute as both an Evening Program Director and Communications VP - Bully-Victims Advocate - Disabilities Advocate - Animal trainer, rescuer and rehabilitor of Horses, Dogs, and Ohio indigenous Species Tutored and Directed Study Groups and learning sessions for Business, Science and obtaining a Project Management Professional Certification Currently trying to figure out how to read, put my rubiks cube together as well as other puzzles that were once easy - Relearning is challenging. Next year I hope to once again be an avid reader, ride horses again, be an advanced violin player (but I need to pick up that violin first), ski (snow and water), ride my bike, draw, paint, make crafts, volunteer again and take Fritz my favorite Dog Geocaching throughout Ohio and other states (I'm hoping to get Ed in venturing out into the Geocaches across the states). As a new Disability person I am inspired by Nick Vujicic, Neuroplasticity as spoken about in the 30+ lectures of Robert Sapolsky from Great Courses and Hero Dogs - I love my service Dog Fritz Not sure since my disability what I will eventually become but I believe no one should ever try to stop learning and improving and reinventing themselves. I'm optimistic I will soon find a nitch who knows maybe I'll be able to publish the 3 pending books I was working on and co-authoring another regarding Bullying. I have worked in Ohio, California, Vermont and Texas. Working disciplines included: Interior Designer, Microbiologist, Chemist, Mutagenicity Project Manager, and Pharmacological PM for both COPD and orphan drug and device development at Battelle and BattellePharma,; Quality Assurance Manager for Perioperative Services at OSUMC, Ross Heart Hospital and James Cancer Center; Assistant Bureau Chief and other roles at the Ohio Department of Health that include Emergency Preparedness and working to improve children's ability to improve cognition in early childhood development; Financial Manager at OSU Intellectual Property and Patent office, professional student and Rescue and Rehabilitator of Ohio Wildlife Association - CAT 1 rehabilitator of indigenous animals in Madison County. Lover of Life RETIRED from the Ohio Department of health. I hold a BS; MHA; ,MBA; PMP (project management certification). I was finishing my dissertation and PhD at Capella and working towards a PhD in Physics when hit head-on by a 16 yo minor that had her license less than a week (texting???). I was a professional speaker, VP of Marketing and evening Program Director at the Columbus Ohio Chapter for the Project Management Institute (as well as other organizations and various venues that included Capella sites across the states). In my spare time I trained dogs and horses - now I have a service dog and I'm currently homebound due to injuries acquired from the accident that include a traumatic brain injury, PTSD; Lumbar malfunctions; Visual Defect, and other aches and pains that still hurt 24/7. - Bully-Victims Advocate - Disabilities Advocate - Animal trainer, rescurer and rehabilitator - Horse & Dog lover - Professional Student - I was just offerd a job (prior to my wreck) at Ashland University to teach MBA classes as well two other schools wanted me to teach Project Management as a consultant and teacher (I really enjoyed teaching science classes, tutoring i...(read more) |
