Army Spc. Michael Andrade
Class of 1995
Army Spc. Michael Andrade was assigned to the 169th Military Police Company, U.S. Army National Guard, of Warren, Rhode Island, attached to the 115th Military Police Company in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Spc. Andrade was a passenger in a HMMWV when a 5-ton truck struck the side of his vehicle in Balad, Iraq. He passed away from injuries sustained in the accident. Spc. Michael Andrade was a volunteer firefighter with the Bristol Fire Department, Andrade was married and had a 14-year-old stepson. “He was a very good soldier. He was always just a nice person,” said Sgt. John Cervone, assigned to the same armory as Andrade. “Everybody would say how devoted he was to his family.” Spc. Michael Andrade passed away September 24, 2003.
