Lapadat of Shoreview, brothers Bill (Mary Jo) of Eden Prairie, Jim of Shoreview, and Tom (Heather) of Las Vegas, NV, and sister Sally Paulsen of Arden Hills, along with four nephews and two nieces. Joe was a shy, quiet, unassuming young man who was an extremely hard worker with a number of talents and interests. He was a graduate of Mounds View High School and the University of St. Thomas with a degree in biology. Joe worked as a scientist after graduation. He had a very busy social life. Joe was a member of Braden Lodge #168 and the Scottish Rite where he could be found on holidays preparing meals for the men in the Masonic Home. A published poet, Joe was active in the local poetry scene, a natural extension of his love for the theatre. Joe was an accomplished actor in high school, college, and community productions where he especially loved Shakespeare and and other "period drama." Therefore, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to either donor's choice or in Joe's name to: WGBH, PO Box 200, Boston, MA 02134 (Attention: Win Lenihan.) Money will be used to start a foundation in Joe's name to help support "Masterpiece Theatre."Our family would like to thank all of you who worked to make Joe's life a little brighter. He had a beautiful circle of friends from poetry, the Masons, tai chi, and political and social justice projects. He will be greatly missed by friends and family.
