About Thomas A. Brady, Sr., age 85, a Moon Township resident since 1957, passed away in the comfort of his home on Thursday, September 28, 2017. He was born in Johnsonburg, PA on January 31, 1932, one of four to the late Eugene and Naomi (St. Clair) Brady. On July 3, 1957, Tom married his beloved wife, Florence (Fritz) Brady, who survives him. They had a beautiful life with their five children: Rich Brady (Barbara) of Ridge, NY, Ken Brady, (Andrea) of Ravenna, OH, Tom Brady, Jr. of Center Township, Ted Brady (Mary Beth) of Bethel Park and Diane Stetser (Bill) of Poland, OH. Tom is the cherished grandfather of Stephen (Nickie), Jason (Megan), Kevin, Erin, Brian, Shannon and Ryan; and proud great grandfather of Hailey, Rebecca, Niko and Maya; brother of Patricia Malone of Maryland and the late Richard and Eugene (and surviving spouse Marcella) Brady; and uncle to many nieces and nephews. Tom graduated from Johnsonburg High School, Clarion State Teacher’s College and obtained his Master’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh. He went on to serve in the United States Army during the Korean War. Tom taught Math at Moon Area School District for 35 years. He was a member of St. Margaret Mary Church and served as an Usher. Tom followed all Moon sports, not only while his children were involved but as his students were participants. He was an assistant coach for Moon Baseball. He loved his job as a teacher and mentor of children. His children, when asking a question, would get an elaborate answer, hence the “teacher in him.” All his children feel that he was a great example and guided them all in the right direction. Tom was an avid Pittsburgh Pirate and Steelers Fan and in his later years, enjoyed building puzzles. Visitation Sunday 2-4, 6-8 at Copeland’s Moon Township, 981 Brodhead Rd. where prayers will be recited on Monday at 9:30 AM followed by Mass at St. Margaret Mary Church at 10 AM. Father Frank Kurimsky, celebrant. In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations in his name to the St. Margaret Mary Church, Moon Township or the Mooncrest Neighborhood Children’s Program, 347 Hemlock Drive, Moon Township, PA 15108
