Trudy graduated from Coraopolis High School in 1947 and Slippery Rock College in 1951 where she majored in health science and physical education with a minor in social studies. She also earned her master’s degree from Penn State University. Trudy was a beloved educator, teaching for a short time in North Hills before raising her children. After returning to teaching she was a long-term substitute teacher in the Coraopolis School District and then was employed by the Moon Area School District as a physical education teacher for 26 years, retiring in 1994. She enjoyed working with young people and served as coach of the girl’s swim team and cheerleader sponsor for several years. When out and about in the area she often saw former students, who were delighted to see her and expressed appreciation for her kindness and caring in the classroom and gym.

Trudy was a member of the former Greystone Presbyterian Church in Coraopolis where she served as the superintendent of Sunday and summer vacation Bible school. She was also active in the community as a member of the Coraopolis Junior Women’s Club and served a term as president.
