Graduation Year Class of 2010

About James Tyler Borland, known to friends and family as JT, was a one-of-a-kind person who will always be remembered. He accomplished so much in his 30 years on earth. He was sentimental, and family was always his first priority. He never forgot a birthday, was always there for others, and was a mentor to his siblings. He was eccentric at times, very creative, and lived his life to the fullest. His charismatic personality allowed him to make friends everywhere, and he could always put a smile on the face of a friend or stranger. James was intelligent and had wisdom beyond his years. JT enjoyed the simplicity of nature, appreciated things of beauty, enjoyed snow skiing, skateboarding, dirt bike riding, and loved traveling in the United States. He had an uncanny connection with animals, similar to an animal whisperer, and he adored his cat, Kief, whom he never left behind. JT was born in Butler, PA on November 22, 1992 to Christine Stinson and the late James Borland. He was a 2010 graduate of Moon Area High School and continued his education as an apprentice electrician with Local 5. James took his sacraments at St. Margaret Mary Church which led to his deep faith. JT passed away peacefully at his home in Rochester on Sunday, September 17, 2023. Beloved son of Christine (Stinson) Lorah and Shawn Lorah; much-loved brother of Alyssa Lorah, Colin Borland, and Caleb Borland; cherished grandson of Kathleen and Jeff Weissert, the late Joseph Stinson (surviving spouse Karlene), Scott and Kathy Borland, and the late Paul and Marita Lorah; nephew of Matthew Weissert, Michael Weissert, Megan Weissert, Monica Day (Kyle), and Laurie Swift. Services and Interment were private at R.D. Copeland Funeral Home, Inc., Moon Twp. Keeping in mind what was important to James, please take time to appreciate, pass along a smile, or reach out to another in a random act of kindness. James, you were loved deeply and always will be. We will miss you. Until we meet again in God’s Heaven. Flowers will be gratefully accepted by the family.
