Graduation Year Class of 1972
Date of Passing Aug 12, 2022
About David Albert Rossi was a talented entrepreneur, daredevil, a man’s man, a jeans kind of guy with true grit. One of three sons, David was born on October 26, 1953, in Sewickley, PA to the late Anthony D. and Dolores Elizabeth (Mance) Rossi, who passed away peacefully on Friday, August 12, 2022, at UPMC Shadyside after a short battle with cancer. David was 68. David was a 1972 graduate of Moon Area High School. Upon graduation, he decided to try his hand at business combined with landscaping and became the founder and part owner, with his two brothers, of Suburban Landscape and Floral Shoppe. He obtained his associate degree in 1974 from Wesley College, Dover, Delaware. A life-long learner, he also graduated from Hixson School of Floral Design in 1983, always looking to improve the business. No surprise, he was good at what he did and was well respected, the business thrived and will continue to honor the Rossi’s family name. David also loved downhill skiing, gardening, playing guitar, and decorating his house for Christmas. David embraced life with enthusiasm and lived life to the fullest. He worked hard and played hard! Known to have a drink once in a while and enjoy a cigarette, he loved to laugh, a little bit gruff, and was very unconventional and maybe slightly unpredictable. He is survived by the light of his life, daughter Chandler Rossi of San Diego, CA; devoted brothers Anthony “Tony” Rossi and Perry Rossi, wife Linda and daughter Selena all of Moon Township. It is with great sadness that we share our news. We hope that you will be able to come and share your stories of David as we celebrate his life with visitation on Wednesday from 4-8 PM at Copeland’s Moon Township, 981 Brodhead Rd. where prayers will be on Thursday at 9:15 AM followed by Mass at St. Joseph Church at 10 AM. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Family suggests, if desired, that donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
