There's a scene in one of the Harry Potter movies where Dumbledore declines to be incarcerated by the Minister of Magic and instead claps his hands and vanishes in a flash of light, at which point a Deputy Minister Shacklebolt comments admiringly to the Minister of Magic that "...Dumbledore's got style..."

Forty years before the movie, Chris had style in abundance; flash and substance. Under his leadership, the band didn't just march, we STRUTTED.

Cris was Killian marching band’s first drum major. He was a senior when I was a freshman. We both played alto sax. He sat next to me. He would lean over and say, ‘Guess who’s coming to dinner 10 years from now?’ That movie was out around that time. He also used to say, ‘Just you & me, baby. Just you & me.’ To him, I was just a little kid—maybe because I was so small when I started 9th grade. He was a fun guy.
