60plus Gold Card Program

Mehlville School District residents 60 years of age or older can obtain a 60 plus Gold Card by calling the Communications Department at (314) 467-5153. The 60 plus Gold Card is your ticket to Mehlville School District home sporting events, band and strings concerts, choral performances and school plays at no cost.

The Mehlville School District's 60 plus Gold Card program hosts four events each school year. At these events, members are invited into a District school where they are entertained by talented students, participate in fun, educational activities and meet District staff and volunteers. Invitations, with complete details, will be mailed to the 60 plus members closer to the date of each event.




The 60plus Gold Card Program within the Mehlville School District is currently seeking Alumni owned or managed restaurants to sponsor the quarterly breakfasts and/or lunches for the senior citizens of our community. These events are conducted on various school properties and draw approximately 100 - 250 attendees. This is a GREAT way to get your restaurant name and product in front of the people in your community.


The next event is a breakfast February 11, 2016 at Wohlwend Elementary. Any Alumni interested in more information, please contact Sally Ellrich in the MSD Communications Dept. at 314-467-5153 or ellrichs@mehlvilleschooldistrict.net

The MOAA is thinking it would be nice to provide an ALL ALUMNI REVIEW for one of these events with any Alumni who would may have a band, be a singer, be a comedian, a clown, a balloon artist, a belly dancer, a tap/ballet/jazz dancer, a motivational speaker or an Alumni who would like to come and speak about their profession and/or their accomplishments since graduating from the Mehlville School District. assist class reunion committees, build our scholarship fund, support high school programs that are not in the high school budgets and fund our operating expenses.)

REUNION TIPS....



Reunions are a tough event for any one person or group of people to put together!

Our suggestion to EVERYONE is to keep it SIMPLE!! No one wants to pay $40, $50 or $60 per person for a reunion. Alumni are not coming to a reunion to eat an expensive dinner, dance to a band/DJ or hear a program about how far everyone came or how many kids they have. They are coming to see YOU and catch up with YOU. Don't make them YELL OVER THE MUSIC or sit and eat dinner.



Tower Tee Family Golf & Recreation Center offers a pavilion with a BBQ pit for $75 for 2 hours and $25 each hour thereafter. That is only $125 for 4 hours! You can bring your own food & drink, bring your spouse and/or kids!! If your spouse does not know anyone, they can go play miniature golf, 18 holes of par 3 golf, go to the batting cages, putting green or driving range AND there is no need for a babysitter for the kids!!

Heck, for $15 a person, Tower Tee will give you the pavilion AND throw in 6 tokens for the batting cages, 18 holes of miniature golf, PIZZA and soda.

PLUS, you can bring your own beer!



Moral of the story.....keep it simple and HAVE FUN!!!

OK, let's talk politics!!! UGH, I know, but we have elections for the MOAA this month too!!
However, it is much easier to win a position on our board than to win a Presidential race. Heck, you don't even have to pay for advertising or buy commercia timel!! Plus, our meetings and events are usually alot more fun and you do not have to wear a suit!!!

The Mehlville-Oakville Alumni Association is currently accepting nominations for officers for the 2013-2014 term. We are always looking for Alumni who are interested in attending meetings as a Class Rep for their graduating class. After one full year on the MOAA Board as a Class Rep. you are eligible to become an MOAA officer.

This is YOUR chance to make a difference!! Plan fundraisers for scholarships, connect alumni, assist with reunions, plan Homecoming events, attend the Overnight Last Blast for current seniors & future Alumni, be creative.....do something new!! If you do not want to be an officer, volunteer to be on a committee: Bylaws, Budget, Fundraising Activities, Reunion, Communications, Database, Newsletter, Statistics, New Membership. We have plenty of positions for everyone and the more volunteers we have, the easier the jobs are for everyone!!

We would like all Alumni to become involved in one way or another to help us become a strong network. You can help us build our Alumni database by forwarding our newsletter to other Alumni, we have 1,000's to reach!! If you attend one event a year to show your support of the MOAA, it helps!! If you donate just one prize for one of the fundraising events, it helps!! If you send a monetary donation to the MOAA to help offset our costs, it helps!!! If Alumni owned businesses sponsor MOAA events, IT HELPS!! And with everyone's participation.....we become a POWERFUL NETWORK and able to do good things for all Alumni.

Our next big event is the Fourth Annual MOAA Trivia Night on Friday, February 1, 2013 at Andre's on Telegraph. $25 per person includes hot pasta, italian salad, dollar sandwiches, rolls, 4 hour open bar with draft beer and 12 house liquors. (you can bring cold snacks, cheese, crackers, fruit, chips, dips & sauces, however, no hot entrees or outside liquor.) $200 for tables of 10 that are paid for with one check.

An MOAA Trivia Night ticket is a GREAT GIFT to give to family and friends for Christmas or Birthdays, for $25 you give them dinner, drinks, a night of fun and trivia too!!

For those classes who have a big 10/15/20/25/30/35/40/45/50 year reunions coming up in 2013.....make the 4th Annual MOAA TRIVIA NIGHT a night for planning and fun, to share ideas, contact other reunion groups and network, network, network!! OR use the Trivia Night FOR your reunion, we have done all of the planning, all you have to do is attend!! We have room for 350 people, 35 tables of 10. Please mark your calendar and reserve your tables early!

Thank you to the OHS Class of 2002 for their $60.00 donation to the MOAA! We were able to assist them with checking in their guests and collecting money at the door, so the committee members could have a good time with their friends!

Thank you to all of the Alumni who came to the Glen Taylor, Jr. Memorial Golf Tournament on 9/29/12 at Riverside Golf Course. They raised over $20,000 for scholarships for seniors at area high schools. MHS and OHS seniors who are children of ACTIVE MOAA members are eligible to apply for one of these scholarships. Come to a meeting and see how YOUR CHILD can apply!
