About	He graduated from Canton McKinley High School in 1943 where he was Captain of the football team. Upon graduating, he received a football scholarship to The Ohio State University, where he played briefly under Paul Brown. He served as a Naval Aviation Machinist from 1944-1946.. In 1951, he took the position as the third African-American to be hired in the Canton City Schools as a custodian. Over the years he held the positions of Boiler Operator and Assistant Chief Custodian to the Administrative Supervisor of Plant Operations. His final position was as Interim Director of Business Affairs before retiring in 1989 after 37 1/2 years of service with the Canton City Schools.
