About	Robert James Oakley, 72, of Martinsville, Va., passed away on Monday, February 6, 2023. He was born in Martinsville, on June 7, 1950, to George D. Oakley and Julia Ann Lester. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Williams Oakley; sons, Robert J. Oakley, II and Dan Lee Oakley; daughter, Ann Lee Oakley; sisters, Sally Parker Oakley Burch and Julia Oakley Gravely; AND brothers, George D. Oakley Jr. and John D. Oakley Jr. He is survived by his granddaughter, Kylee Rain Oakley. Mr. Oakley was a graduate of Martinsville High School and attended Hargrave Military Academy and Columbia Commercial College. He was a member of Hope Presbyterian Church. Mr. Oakley was a very devoted UVA sports fan and a member of the Miata Club. He also enjoyed the music of his favorite band, Chicago. A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at McKee Stone Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
