About	Janice Ethel nee Hollingsorth Wiegand, 90 18 April 1924 - 16 July 2014 Central High School - Class of 1942 "Janice Ethel Wiegand (nee: Hollingsworth), 90 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at The Laurels in New London following a lengthy illness. She was a lifetime resident of Amherst, born April 18, 1924 and graduating from Central High School in the class of 1942. Janice also was a graduate of the Cleveland Academy of Cosmetology. Janice was a loving housewife and mother. She was an active member of St. Peter United Church of Christ in Amherst. Janice served on the church council, the alter guild and was a member of the circle six. She was a 50 year member of the Stone City Chapter of the Eastern Star and a 50 year member of the White Shriner of Jerusalem. Survivors include her sons Wade Wiegand and his wife Karen of South Amherst, Douglas Wiegand of Amherst; her daughters and their husbands Audrey and Gregory Huber of Amherst and Susan and Frank Moesher of Wakeman; grandchildren Keith (Buket) Huber, Jacquelyn Huber, Megan Huber, Paul Moesher, John Moesher and one great grandchild Adahan Huber; and brother Leroy Hollingsworth of Wellington. She was preceded in death by her husband of thirty years Howard Wiegand on March 23, 1977; her sister Ruth Doane in 1958; and her parents Clayton and Florence Hollingsworth (nee: Schieferstein). Friends may call Saturday July 19, 2014, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
