About	"AMHERST - Chester N. "Chip" Stawicki Jr., age 49 and a resident of Amherst, passed away on Friday, December 27, 2013, at Mercy New Life Hospice in Lorain. Born in Lorain and raised in Amherst, Chip was a graduate of Marion L. Steele High School. Chip owned and operated Crosscut Construction, where he worked locally remodeling homes for the past 18 years. He enjoyed spending his leisure time with family and friends, and helping his friends with projects. He was an avid NASCAR racing fan and enjoyed tinkering with engines. Over the past 20 years, Chip was a member of various bowling leagues who bowled at Rebman Recreation in Lorain. Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Jenny (nee McDonald); son, Jason, and daughter, Christine, all of Amherst; mother, Elizabeth (Betty) Stawicki of Amherst; sister, Cindy (Jerry) Hooker of South Amherst; brothers, David (Amy) of Lexington, Kentucky, Tim (Debbie) of Wakeman, Chris (Celia) of Sheffield Village, Marty (Laura) of Brighton, Michigan, Brian (Karen) of Amherst and Phil (companion Jen) of South Amherst; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Carol and John McDonald of Amherst; and 29 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Chester N. Stawicki Sr., in April 2009. Family will receive friends Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., at the Garland-Misencik Funeral Home, 851 Park Ave., Amherst. The funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, followed by burial at Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township.
