"Kathryn Helen ' Katie' Andress nee Harsar passed away at Port St. Lucie Medical Center on September 9, 2011 following a brief illness.

She was born on March 12, 1923 in Black River Township, Ohio and graduated from Amherst High School in 1941. Katie grew up on a dairy farm operated by her parents and family. Her parents immigrated from the Budapest area of Hungary in the early 1900's. During her life she was a switchboard operator, a waitress, an inspector in the quality control department of Western Automatics and she worked in after school care for children.

She married Ernest Andress on June 4, 1944 and the couple moved to Florida in 1952. Ernest died April 9th of this year at the age of 91. The couple enjoyed going to the beach and Katie has done numerous oil and water color paintings over the years that she has shared with family members and friends. She was a true artist and won several awards for her paintings.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Ernest; her parents, Steven and Ester (Varga) Harcsar; sister, Julia (Lowell) Burton; and brothers: Stephen (Viola) Harsar, Julius (Emigene) Harsar, Henry (Mary) Harsar and Albert (Adelia) Harsar.

She is survived by her sister-in-laws Mary Harsar and Adelia Harsar and by many nieces and nephews.

The family will have a burial service for both Katie and Ernie Andress in Nova, Ohio.
