About	Helen nee Chihay Sexstella, 87 23 Apr 1923 - 14 Jan 2011 Amherst High School - Class of 1941 "LORAIN - Helen Sexstella (nee Chihay), 87, of Lorain, died Friday, January 14, 2011 at Kingston of Vermilion after a short illness. Born April 23, 1923 in Amherst, OH she had been a lifelong resident of the Lorain area. Helen graduated from Amherst High School in 1941and worked at Lawsons in Amherst and also served as a substitute in the Cafeteria at Central School in Amherst. She was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, Lorain where she was active in the Altar Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Amherst Homemakers, Lorain County Homemakers, PLAV, and the United Polish Club. She enjoyed crafts, sewing, knitting and was an avid reader. Survivors include her daughters, Carol (Tom) Houf of Boiling Springs, PA and Marlene (Bernard) Fitch of Erie, PA; sons, Joe Sexstella of Lorain and Timothy Sexstella of Lorain; 2 grandchildren, Karla Razanauskas and Nicole Drabic; and 6 great-grandchildren, Conrad and Madeline Kubaney, Mitchell and Claire Razanauskas, and Riley and Lilly Drabic. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph S. Sexstella in 2004, parents John and Victoria (Holeva) Chihay; a grandson, Bernard W. Fitch III; brothers, Ted, Frank & Stanley Gerron; and sisters, Josephine Deminski, Julia Wozniak, Marcella Haas, Marian Knitter, Sophie Kulas, & Leona "Louise" Sroka. Friends may call Tuesday, January 18, 2011 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm, at the Dombrowski-Riddle Funeral Home, 1939 Oberlin Avenue Lorain, Ohio, where a rosary service will be said at 3:00 pm. Prayers will be said at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 19, 2011, at 9:30 am followed by a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 418 West 15th Street Lorain, OH 44052. The Reverend Robert J. Glepko will be the celebrant. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Nativity B.V.M.
