About	4 Mar 1941 - 14 Dec 2010 MLS Class of 1959 "AMHERST - Jane Ellen Cahl, 69 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at Amherst Manor Nursing Home following a lengthy illness. She was born March 4, 1941 in Amherst, Ohio. Jane was a lifetime resident of Amherst and graduated from Marion L. Steele High School in the class of 1959. Jane was employed as a secretary at St. Joseph Hospital for thirty-three years and also worked at Lorain County Community College Foundation for five years. She was an active member of St. Peter United Church of Christ in Amherst where she sang in the choir and was a member of Alter Guild. Jane was one of the original members of the Amherst Community Chorus. Survivors include her cousin and care taker Mrs. Kenneth Cynthia Bring of Amherst as well as many extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents George and Pauline Cahl (nee: Strauss). Friends may call Friday, December 17, 2010 from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. from St. Peter United Church of Christ; 582 Church Street, Amherst. The Rev. Mark Pemberton, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Crownhill Cemetery, Amherst. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Peter United Church of Christ; Sanctuary Improvement Fund; 582 Church Street, Amherst, OH 44001.
