About	1959 - 2010 MLS Class of 1977 "Published: Tuesday, August 17, 2010 SOUTH AMHERST Patricia 'Tricia' Ann Shiltz (nee: Troike), 51 years of age, and a resident of South Amherst, passed away Sunday, August 15, 2010, at the Amherst Hospital following a sudden illness. Tricia was born March 26, 1959 in Sandusky, Ohio. She was raised in the Sandusky and Amherst area graduating from Marion L. Steele High School with the class of 1977. South Amherst has been her home for the last twenty-eight years. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Kent State University in 1981. Tricia loved being with and teaching children and used her education to work as a preschool teacher with the Zion Lutheran Church in Lorain. She also worked with H & R Block as a tax consultant. She was a life member of the Vermilion Amvets Post #22, the Amherst Alumni Band, the Castalia Area Historical Society as well as the Erie County Ohio Historical Society, the Firelands Pioneer Power Association, and a life member of the Girl Scouts. She enjoyed bingo, ceramics, antique tractors and going to the antique tractors shows, cross stitching, traveling, and camping. Survivors include her husband of twenty-eight years, Richard George Shiltz, Jr.; her son Richard Thomas Shiltz of South Amherst; her parents Thomas Ralph and Lois Ruth Troike (nee: Chill) of Amherst, her brother David Thomas Troike and his wife, Susan, of South Amherst; several aunts and uncles, and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call Wednesday, August 18, 2010, from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 19, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. from the funeral home. The Rev. Ray Ake, pastor of Henrietta United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be held privately in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
