About	John G. Barrett, II, 55, of Battle Creek, Michigan, died Monday, October 9, 2006, at Battle Creek Health System. John was born February 9, 1951, in Syracuse, NY, the son of John G. and Elizabeth J. (Shumway) Barrett. He received his bachelor's degree in 1979 from State University of New York in Albany. John was employed at the Battle Creek Federal Center since 1980 with DRMS. He married the former Maxine A. Lang on March 14, 1981, in Syracuse. John and Maxine and their children moved to Battle Creek in 1994 from Wiesbaden, Germany, where he was with the U.S. Government. John was a member of St. Philip Catholic Church. He had a passion for hunting, fishing, outdoors, wildlife and traveling. John also enjoyed sports and was an avid fan of college basketball. He took great pleasure in watching his three children participate in Pennfield School sports for the last 10 years. John is survived by his wife, Maxine; children, Genevieve M. Barrett of Grand Rapids, Mary K. Barrett and John G. Barrett, III, both of Battle Creek; his parents, John and Elizabeth of Marcellus, NY; siblings, Joseph L. Barrett of Marcellus, NY, Linda Mahan-Barrett of Georgia, Daniel Barrett of Georgia, James P. Barrett of Marcellus, NY and Thomas Barrett of Montana
