About	Joseph "Jimmy" FRANKLIN, 70, passed this life on Saturday, June 16, 2018 in Ohio Health MedCentral Mansfield Hospital after an extended illness. Mr. Franklin was born on Saturday, July 26, 1947 to the late Tillman and Katie (Powell) Franklin Sr. in Andalusia, Alabama and had been a resident of the Mansfield community for the past 66 years. He was a former employee of the City of Mansfield in the Street Department for 25 years retiring in year of 2010. Jimmy loved watching sports on TV and was a die heart Cleveland Browns and Cavaliers fan and enjoyed watching the NCIS trilogy shows. He leaves to mourn his passing a daughter: Lanesha Kay Franklin; a step son: Christopher Jones, Oakland, California; 2 sisters: Gloria (Jimmie) Mosely and Kay Franklin, Mansfield; 2 brothers: Elder Tillman (Phyllis) Franklin Jr. Lucas and Willie Franklin, Mansfield; 2 grandchildren; a great grandson; uncle and aunt Jesse "Jetney" and Pat Powell, Mansfield; his former wife Annie Franklin, Oakland; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by a brother Joel Franklin.
Events	Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Services with Superintendent Louis Blevins, Jr. of Latter Rain C.O.G.I.C. officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service beginning at 10 till time of service. Interment will be in Mansfield Cemetery. The family will also receive friends at his home at 958 Kentland Dr. daily from 5-8 p.m. until the day of the funeral services.
