About James Edward Wilson Jr. of Flagler Beach, died peacefully at home on December 20,
2010. He was born in Daytona Beach on October 10, 1937 to Bertha Elizabeth and James Edward Wilson. He was a graduate of Mainland High School Class of 1955 and the University of Florida Class of 1959, receiving a degree in Agricultural Engineering. After completing his education he worked for several commercial fertilizer companies and in the early 1970s opened his own commercial fertilizer business, Wilson Fertilizer Sales, in Bunnell. He was a pioneer in the development of liquid fertilizer for use on commercial crops. Shortly thereafter he became involved in real estate and developed Holly Forest Mobile Home Park in Holly Hill. He later developed other real estate properties in Volusia and Flagler Counties. As a retirement project, in 2004, he enjoyed converting his family property, in Holly Hill, to the Vineyards of Holly Hill, growing hybrid varieties of muscadine grapes and citrus. He was a member of the Volusia County Life Guard Corps and an avid Gator fan. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, scuba diving and travel. He was well known as a person who worked hard, played hard and had a great sense of humor. He loved telling stories about his adventures and life experiences. He is survived by his first wife, Margaret Ann McCort Wilson, East Palatka; and children, James Edward Wilson III, Palatka, Tancy Elizabeth Caplinger, St Augustine, Robin Wendy Palisoc, Palm Coast, Shawn Eric Wilson, Palm Coast; eight grandchildren; two greatgrandchildren; and his present wife, Nancy Olbert Wilson and children, LeeAnne Nelson, Leavenworth, Kansas, John Christopher Olbert, Jacksonville, Fl, and three grandchildren. At his request, "At a later date, there will be a celebration of my life, well lived and with many happy memories". Family will provide notice of the date and time for the celebration gathering.
