About Jeanne Albert Tabscott, age 87, of Daytona Beach, FL, passed away October 28, 2009. Jeanne was born on January 27, 1922, in Camden, New Jersey and lived in Daytona Beach for 54 years. She was a graduate of Elkins High School, in Elkins, West Virginia where she was chosen outstanding student, played basketball and was a member of the band. She attended Davis and Elkins College, in Elkins, and graduated from West Virginia University with a degree in Library Science in 1943. She was honored by her selection as princess in the Elkins Forest Festival. She was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. Upon graduation she became a librarian with the New York City public library system. She was dean of women at Larson Junior College in New Haven, Connecticut. She served as head librarian at Mainland Senior High School, Daytona Beach, for 17 years, retiring in 1979. Jeanne was a member of Highlands Presbyterian Church in Daytona Beach where she sang in the choir for 15 years and served as an elder for 6 years. She spent most summers in her hometown of Elkins. Jeanne treasured her bridge club in Daytona Beach, loved to do crafts and to attend art and antique shows. Many of the beautiful antiques she collected remain in her home. She is remembered by her family and friends for her kind and gentle ways. Jeanne is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, William "Tab" L. Tabscott, Jr., and is survived by daughter, Neville Tabscott; son, Charles Tabscott; daughter-in-law, Charyl Tabscott; granddaughter, Michelle Tabscott; grandson, Chris Tabscott; grand-daughter-in-law, Denise Tabscott; and three greatgrandchildren: David Charles Tabscott, Grace Ann Tabscott and Emmachelle Tabscott. A memorial service will be held at the United Presbyterian Church, 730 Beville Road, Daytona Beach, FL on Monday, November 23, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Halifax Health Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 555 W.
