About	Mom passed away at her home in North Carolina on May 24th, 2009. She was 91. Her husband, Ray, and her daughters, Nancy and Leslie were by her side. A memorial service was held in the Chapel in the Pines at Seven Lakes, NC. Mrs. Perlman was a teacher all of her life and was so at Mahomet-Seymour Jr. High for many years. She later taught at one of the Junior Highs in Urbana, IL. She loved her students and followed their goings on for many, many years. Mrs. Perlman also was a very avid gardener and with her husbands help made a flat barren piece of land into a beautiful English garden. Once Mr. Perlman retired from the University of Illinois, they both moved to Seven Lakes in North Carolina where Mrs. Perlman was originally from.

I have a life time passon for reading which was inspired by Mrs. Perlman. In the 7th grade she started the class on a contest to see who could make the most book reports. I did not praticulary like to read before then but during that time I found books that I enjoyed and my passon was ignited. I will always treasure Mrs. Perlman's memory as the teacher who inspired that passion. Mike Henderson class of 1967
