What is Terrel E. Clarke known for?

Terrel Edward "Tec" Clarke, an American politician and businessman, was born on March 20, 1920, in Chicago, Illinois. Clarke graduated from Lyons Township High School in Lyons Township, Cook County, Illinois. During his career, he served his country as a staff sergeant in the United States Army during World War II.

Clarke continued his education, earning a bachelor's degree from the University of Colorado and a master's degree from Harvard Business School. Briefly, he taught business at the University of Kansas. He lived in Western Springs, Illinois, with his family and worked as an insurance broker.

His political career started in the Illinois House of Representatives where he served from 1957 to 1967 as a member of the Republican party. He then continued his service in the Illinois Senate from 1967 to 1977. Clarke passed away from heart failure on July 29, 1997, at his family's summer home in Castle Park, Michigan.
