1) Linn-Mar Class of 1973 – 45-Year Class Reunion
Saturday, Aug. 11, 2018 at the Lowe Park and Arts & Environment Center, 4500 N. 10th St., Marion. There is no charge to attend; food and drink will be provided. LJ’s is catering, and our menu is chipotle-mango chicken breasts and Jamaican BBQ pork served with tropical fruit skewers, macaroni salad, buns & condiments.
Vegetarian option: roasted red pepper with couscous. If you prefer a vegetarian meal or if you have other dietary needs, text Sally Sharbo Reck at (319-350-8264) or Janice (Veal) Zachmeyer (319-651-1316).

For those interested in playing golf the Saturday morning of the reunion there are tee times available beginning at 10:10 a.m. at the Gardner Golf Course, formerly Squaw Creek. Cost is $46 per person for 18 holes and cart; club rentals are available for $15. Call/text Sally Sharbo Reck (319-350-8264) by Aug. 1 if you are participating and if you need to rent clubs.

3) And to make it a weekend you’ll never forget ...
Friday, Aug. 10 we’ll have a pre-reunion get-together at Jim Lensch's farm starting at 7 p.m. If you’re a local, bring a chair or two and everyone should BYOB. Water and soda will be provided. And just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, our host has parking available for RVs and tent camping; however, there are no water hookups or bathroom facilities.
Directions from the intersection of highways 13 and 151: Go 2.5 miles east on Highway 151, then turn left (north) at Jordans Grove Road and go 1 mile. The farm is on the left (you’ll see a large grain bin). The address is 2818 Jordans Grove Road.

On Friday night there will be a social hour at the Longbranch Supper Club in Marion starting at 7:00 for those who can attend this. Otherwise the main reunion will be on Saturday at noon at the Daryl and Maria Martin's at 2653 Jordans Grove Rd. Take hwy 151 east out of Marion from the junction of hwy 13. Travel east 2 3/4 miles. Turn north on Jordans Grove Rd. (If you cross a creek bridge you went too far.) Travel north just over 1/2 mile.

We are in the beginning stages of planning and thanks to Melissa Griffith and Amy Thurness, we have made great strides. Friday night will be a mixer at the American Legion in Marion with cash bar. Saturday will be a dinner and drinks (and dancing for those who dare) at our very own Indian Creek Country Club. Sunday is still TBA but we are thinking picnic/golf, etc (or maybe golf on Saturday instead). Stay tuned and please tell as many classmates as possible to get on classmates and facebook. Cost of the Linn Mar class of ‘73 reunion is being reduced again to $20 per classmate, your friend or spouse is free (we’re better than Geico). So come to the reunion, relax and catch up on old times. This is a very low key event so anything other than shorts a tee shirt and flip flops you will be over dressed. We have over 30 signed up to attend and the count is increasing daily. Members of other graduating class are also invited to stop by and visit. Pop, beer and wine along with chicken, potato salad, relish trays provided by the five star catering services of Hy-Vee, what a deal! Where; Marion Town Square Pavilion When; Saturday, July 26, 5-10 pm How much; $20 per student, friend or spouse free, you can pay Saturday night and for those of you who prepaid will refund Saturday night.

For those of you who have signed up for the reunion we loook forward to seeing you on July 26th. The committee wants to make you aware the location of the reunion may change, date and time will remain the same. We are considering moving the location to a more informal location such as the Marion Town Square or a local park. If that happens those of you have paid the $50 per person will be refunded a portion of that amount. You will be notified via email by the end of next week on the final decision. We encourage you to contact other classmates and encourage them to attend, even if you're not planning on attending please forward this e-mail to classmates you still stay in contact with. We have struggled to get current addreses and e-mails and fear some may want to attent but are unaware of the reunion. It would be a shame for them to miss the 35th reunion experience of this Woodstock like event!! If your planning on attending but haven't confimed, please do so by Sunday July 13th via e-mail to either of the emails listed below. Look forward to seeing you in a few weeks.
