About	2/15/1955 ~ 8/1/2008 Melanie was born in Richmond, California in 1955 to Hans & Waranna Blum. The youngest of three children, she went to school in San Jose and graduated from Leland High in 1973. Besides her husband of 24 years, she is survived by a step-son Alex, and their son Daniel was born in 1985, followed by Nicholas in 1987. She has taught dance, ESL and been a substitute teacher for many years, most recently she taught since the 1990’s for the East Side Adult Education . She was a lifelong student taking classes at Gavilan, San Jose City and West Valley College. Melanies loved to volunteer for many organizations including Stories for Service. She inherited her diverse passion for music from her parents. She has been a member of The Home Church in San Jose.
