About	Sande was married to Mike Burns (also class of '61) for 39 years when he lost her to a relatively short battle with lung cancer. They had two sons (also graduates of LHS), Bradley Eugene Burns (currently owns a construction company in Camby, Indiana) and Boyd Franklin Burns (a former Marine, now a policeman in Newnan, Georgia.) Sande probably experienced the joy of her life by being the immensley loved "Mamam" of five granddaughters, Katie Michelle, Courtney Lynn, and Samantha Kay Burns of Georgia, and Liza Marie and Alexandra Bernadene Burns of Indiana. After her death at age 59, Ava Bethany Burns and Jacquelyn Gayle Burns came along, and Mike has tried valiantly to give them enough "extra" love to try to compensate them for the love they lost to their siblings from "Mamam." Sande had become a platinum blonde, well-dressed, personable and bright activist in Republican politics after her marriage, had served as a Private Secretary to IN Attorney General Ted Sendak, and moved on to the Department of Tourism during its assignment to Lt. Gov. Bob Orr and for the following eight year Lt. Governorship of John Mutz.. She spent the last twelve years of her life in her favorite job, working for Boone Co. Superior Court Judge, and close family friend, O. A. Kincaid the 3rd (LHS class of '62.)
