Hearing of Greg's passing took me back. I remember Greg as being the friend everyone wanted to have. He was a great guy. I have two standout memories. The second may be deleted as it has the tiresome stigma of being X-rated, well at least in 1970.

Greg went with my family for a week of fishing and whatever else people do in the Wisconsin boonies. I remember it as a great time. I got to know Greg better. I am thinking this must have happened during our Abbott junior high days. He and I traveled in the back of my stepfathers truck. That was kinda neat and adventurous in itself.

One evening Greg and I went over to Dan Corcoran's. His mother was having some kind woman's social. Greg, Dan, and I went up into the attic. I saw my first porn film. At some point Dan's mother knocked on the door, and wanted to show the ladies the attic. Dan was quick to advise his mother in the negative. I remember her reply like it was yesterday --- she said "boys will be boys." She was a good sport about it.

I heard Dan passed away some time ago. All the friends a long ago fond memory. I remember my grandmother was given one of those framed collages of pictures from times long passed for her. She was crying --- and today I understand the "why" she was crying. It's all a mix of emotions, and the deep knowing "there's no going back." No way, no how. To any one reading this, I wish you and yours love and good health.
