About	Thomas K. “Minnow” Fisher, 65 of La Crosse passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2009, at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center, La Crosse, after a three-year battle with cancer. He was born May 3, 1944, in La Crosse to George C. and Lois J. (Boeck) Fisher. Following his mother’s death in 1946, Tom was raised by his maternal grandmother, Fern Stark. Tom graduated from Central High School in 1962, where he excelled and lettered in several sports as well as singing with the school choir. On April 4, 1964, he married Karen A. Sciborski at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in La Crosse. Tom had worked for Norplex in La Crosse for 39 years and then retired from Walzcraft Industries. Tom was an avid sports fan who enjoyed playing softball, hunting, camping and traveling. He also enjoyed his time spent restoring his 1964 Chevy truck. Tom was known for his honesty and dedication as well as being a loving husband, father and grandfather. In addition to his wife, Karen, he is survived by three children, Kristine Schlicht of La Crosse, Tim Fisher of La Crosse and Scott Fisher of Stoddard; seven grandchildren, Thomas, Michael, Mitchell, Nicholas, Hailey, Tyler and Christopher; his father, George C. Fisher of Texhoma, Okla.; a sister, Judy Diesburg of La Crosse; a brother, Jim (Carol) Fisher of La Crosse; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lois Fisher; his paternal and maternal grandparents; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Florence Sciborski; a brother-in-law, Steven B. Sciborski; and a niece, Christine Sciborski.
