About	David Michael Lyman, 67, died in Klamath Falls, Ore., Dec. 15, 2014. A gathering for family and friends will be in Reames Golf & Country Club in his memory from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014. Cremation was at Eternal Hills Funeral Home. David was born to Robert and Marjorie Lyman Nov. 10, 1947, in Klamath Falls. He attended local schools and graduated from Klamath Union High School in 1965. He attended Southern Oregon College, graduating with a degree in elementary education. In 1967, he married Vickie Marks. They had two children, David and Erika. He was extremely proud of them and loved being a grandfather to Dylan, Lucas and Kylie. Dave taught elementary education in the Medford School District for several years. His love for golf led him to a career as a golf course superintendent for many golf courses, including Willamette Country Club, Stewart Meadows, Harbor Isles and Shield Crest. He also was involved in the construction of the golf courses at Stewart Meadows, Harbor Isles and Shield Crest. Dave, always ready for a new challenge, managed a sod farm in Billings, Mont., and also Enumclaw, Wash. His love of baseball spanned many years, starting in Little League, going on to Babe Ruth and the Falcons, where he was a member of the 1966 championship team. Many of those years included teammate Greg Brosterhous, who became a lifetime best friend. They shared many stories and maybe a few exaggerations of their baseball escapades. Dave was an outdoor enthusiast, hunting and fishing most of his life. He mastered the art of tying flies. His final years included spending time with family and going on many hunting and fishing trips with Brosterhous and his dog, Casey. Survivors include his mother, Marjorie Lyman of Klamath Falls; children and their spouses, Dave and Stacy Lyman and Erika and Jeff Jackola of Portland, Ore.; grandchildren, Dylan Lyman, Lucas Lyman and Kylie Jackola of Portland; brother and sisters and their spouses, Mark and Lori Lyman of Bend, Ore., Marcie and Blair Henderson of Klamath Falls, and Cindy and Paul Mee of Klamath Falls; nieces, Kayla and Nickie Mee of Klamath Falls; aunt, Effie Vanderhoff of Klamath Falls; many cousins; and special friends, Greg Brosterhous and Keith Hill. Dave was preceded in death by his father, Robert Lyman.
