About	He attended Altamont Elementary School and graduated from Klamath Union High School in May 1964. Mike was always active in sports, playing Little League, Babe Ruth and American Legion Falcon Baseball. He went to Oregon State College on a baseball scholarship and was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies. He enjoyed playing ball with both the Phillies and the Chicago Cubs and often said these were the happiest days of his life. He acquired an encyclopedic knowledge of sports facts and trivia and had a keen wit and fine sense of humor. When his baseball career ended, he was active in several business ventures in Ashland, Ore., Houma, La., and Portland, Ore.
