He was a four-time State Champion in wrestling at Roosevelt High School before moving to Kennedy High School for his senior year. In addition to his wrestling talent, LeVesseur also excelled in football as a quarterback, and even track and field.

As a collegiate wrestler, LeVesseur carved out a unique place in history by becoming the only four-time undefeated NCAA Division III National Champion. Only LeVesseur himself, Cael Sanderson from Division I - Iowa State University, and Joey Davis from Division II - Notre Dame College have completed their collegiate careers as undefeated, four-time NCAA champions. LeVesseur's division III record is remarkable with an undiminished streak at Augsburg University of 155 wins.

LeVesseur's wrestling career started as early as five years old and became even more remarkable during his time at Augsburg College, where he maintained an amateur wrestling record of 296–0 through his senior year. For his outstanding performance in 2005, he was awarded the Wade Schalles Award for best collegiate pinner.

LeVesseur's mixed martial arts career started in 2003. His debut was against Doug Henkey, where he claimed victory just 44 seconds into the first round. He compiled a record of 21-5 while competing in regional promotions before making his way to the UFC in 2012. Despite a loss in his debut match, LeVesseur proved his mettle by securing a victory in October 2012. His entire career stands testament to his dedication and passion for martial arts.
