About Jeffrey P. Berdyck, 61, passed away suddenly Wednesday, December 14th, 2016 at his home in Barberton, Ohio.
He was born September 18th, 1955 in Akron, where he had been a resident most of his life. He graduated from Kenmore High School in 1974, where he found a strong love and incredible talent in playing football. He then went on to coach youth football for the Cuyahoga Falls Black Tigers.
Jeffrey bravely dedicated his life for over 20 years to the Wadsworth Police Department, joining the force in 1980. He was named Police Officer of the Year in 1992, for his many years of dedication and commitment to protecting and serving the City of Wadsworth. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge #45, where he had previously served as lodge president.
He enjoyed spending time with family, fishing, cooking, trains, and watching the Three Stooges. He will always be remembered for his infectious laugh, and ability to light up any room with laughter.
He was preceded in death by his brother, William Gould. He is survived by his father, Frank Berdyck, mother, Carol Gould, daughter Shannon (James) Heaton, son Matthew Berdyck, sisters, Chris Conrad and Lori Gerber, and his beautiful grandchildren Belle, Abby, Sebastian, and Delaney. He will be dearly missed by many special nieces, nephews,, aunts, uncles, cousins, and lifelong friends. Kucko-Anthony Funeral Home Chapel. Holy Cross Cemetery.
