About Joan Frances Kinate, 65, Little Suamico, passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2023. She was born on April 25, 1957, to Ted and Helen (O’Brien) Lasky in Binghamton, New York. Joan attended John Marshall High School in Rochester, MN and then went on to the University of Wisconsin – Stout. She married Greg Kinate at the Chapel of Love in the Mall of America on April 27, 1996, in Bloomington, MN. Joan was a bank lender for over 40 years, and her specialty was in SBA loans. She was also a member of Thornberry Tuesday night women’s golf league. She was previously a board member for the Green Bay YWCA and St. Paul Jaycees, and was involved with many other professional and charitable organizations. She enjoyed spending time with her kids, grandkids, family, and friends, as well as golfing, gardening, and decorating. Joan also loved walking with her dog Nellie, traveling, playing games, and taking long car rides with no destination in mind. Joan is survived by her husband, Greg, her stepchildren, Alexis (Kinate) Goodwin and Ross (Libbie) Kinate, her grandchildren, Madison, Braelyn, Londyn, and Adrian. She is also survived by her siblings, Michael (Carol) Lasky, Joseph (Nora) Lasky, and Kathleen (Brent) Calkins, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is further survived by her sisters/brothers-in-law Sister Nancy Kinate and Sister Jane Kinate, as well as Mary Verheyen, Jim Kinate, Paul (Sue) Kinate, Tom (Christine Taylor) Kinate, Pat Zenk, Joan (Joe) Young, and Jean (Dennis Zak) Kinate. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ted and Helen Lasky, her in-laws, Wilbert and Lorraine Kinate, her sisters-in-law Susan Zenk and Kathy Kinate, and brother-in-law Bill Verheyen. The family would like to thank the Cancer Team at Bellin Health, Unity Hospice and the Little Suamico Rescue Squad. Your wonderful care made the journey easier.
