We are less than 7 months away from our 50th High School Reunion. Time for an update from the committee. By the way, we currently have 109 people deposited, but have many more that have expressed interest that we expect to sign on now.
BALANCE DUE
We are now collecting the balance due from all attendees. $50 per person, unless you paid in full when deposits were requested. If you have not deposited and wish to join, the cost is $100. We would appreciate final payments in by the end of March, so we have the funds to disperse as our payments are due. HOTEL ROOMS
The hotel has opened a block of rooms for reservations Friday and/or Saturday night. More can be added as the block fills up; reservations at the discounted rate can be made up until August 17th.

COVID-19
The committee wants to let everyone know that we are making all plans and arrangements within the restrictions currently in place. We have all of our safety in mind and will continue to adjust any of our activities. Masks will be required at certain times during the banquet and in the hotel, for example. We are hopeful that most of us will be vaccinated by September and that restrictions will ease somewhat. As we get close to the weekend, more specifics can be provided.
WEEKEND ACTIVITIES
The committee has put together a weekend of activities. Please advise us of your interest level in each of them. You can email Carol Moorhead at clmoorhead@gmail.com or drop a note along with your check.
• Golf on Friday? If we have enough interest we will look to make tee times at a local course. Until we know the level of interest, we can’t quote a cost; but this activity will be at your own expense.
• Friday night Meet & Greet? We are contemplating a meet & greet in one of the hotel suites. Unfortunately, depending on COVID restrictions this remains uncertain. We are trying to further explore potential outdoor areas to set this up, but this would be weather dependent. More to follow on this closer to reunion weekend.
• Saturday morning/afternoon. We have arranged for a tour of the high school and lunch in the cafeteria. Please let us know if you are interested, so we can plan accordingly.
• Saturday afternoon. We are planning a “Rediscover Iselin” Activity. More details will follow, but this will be a no-cost activity. Again, please let us know so we can gauge level of interest.
• Saturday evening. This is the Main Event! 50 years later, the JFK Class of 1971 will get together again for a fun evening of catching up, dining, music and reminiscing.
• Sunday morning. We are planning to utilize the hotel breakfast (served until 11:00am) to have one final get together before everyone ends their stay. The cost of this will be on your own. In order to make arrangements for us to be together, we will need to provide a count to the hotel so they can set us up in a corner of the room. Please let us know if you will be interested in staying for breakfast.

Reunion Update: We have 89 people deposited for the 50th reunion (74 classmates + 15 guests). If you haven't already, please send in your deposit, or at least reach out to a committee member to let us know if you'll be joining us but paying later. Myself (Carol Seaman), Gail Gail Moorhead Kvalkauskas, Lorraine Lipari, Margaret Stites (Jones), Melanie Meli (Symborski), Judy Verrilli, Sandy Sanford Runkel, Sandy McCormick (Smith), Meryl Orlando (Stoller) and Ellen Wood Brooks are on the committee.
If you keep in touch with anyone from our class, please reach out and make sure they have the reunion information. We still have 155 classmates we are trying to reach.
Over the summer, we will begin planning the other weekend activities, so watch for updates this fall. Also this fall the hotel will open up reservations at discounted rates for those wanting to stay there. Once we have those details, we will share.
