Robert started his football career as a running back in the National Football League (NFL), where he played for the Philadelphia Eagles from 1989 to 1991. He was drafted in the third round of the 1989 NFL Draft by the Eagles. Later, his career took a leap when he shifted to the Canadian Football League (CFL) in 1994 and continued to play till 2002.
