Andrew Jay Rautins, popularly known as Andy Rautins, is a remarkable alumni from Jamesville-DeWitt High School in DeWitt, New York. Born on November 2, 1986, in Syracuse, New York, Andy is a former professional basketball player who's had quite an exciting career, both in the U.S and internationally.

During his high school days, he played a crucial role in the 2004 Jamesville-Dewitt High School Class A state championship squad. The team went undefeated that season (29–0), and Andy showed out in the championship game with 19 points and seven rebounds. His efforts were recognized as he was named to the first-team all-state and first-team All-CNY.

Post high school, Rautins committed to Syracuse University where he majored in communication and rhetorical studies. He had a substantial college career, even though it was briefly halted due to a knee injury during his 2007-08 season. However, he returned stronger, playing a pivotal role for the Orange in the succeeding seasons.

In the professional basketball sphere, Rautins' career extended from 2010 to the present. He was picked by the New York Knicks in the 2010 NBA draft as the 38th overall pick. His journey then went international, where he played for a variety of teams such as Lucentum Alicante, Tulsa 66ers, Skyliners Frankfurt, Varese, Gaziantep, Banvit, Bahçeşehir Koleji, Panathinaikos, and AEK Athens. In 2013, he also became the NBA D-League Showcase Three-Point Shootout champion.

Despite being American-born, Rautins also holds Canadian citizenship, which allowed him to play for the Canadian national team. His father, Leo Rautins, is also a professional basketball player and was the former coach of the Canadian national team.
