About	Ethel,98, died in Houlton after a lingering illness. Born January 9, 1909 in Littleton, she was the second daughter of Mary (Watson) and Willie Henderson. She graduated from Houlton High School in 1925 and received her BA degree from Colby College in 1929, afterward teachingat Houlton junior and senior high schools from1929-1941. In 1941 she married Lawrence Ferguson of Millinocket. They moved to Falmouth and then Concorn, NH, returning to Houlton following retirement in 1968. Ethel was a member, since 1919, of the Houlton United Methodist Church and a membe of the Rachel Circle. She was a past member of American Association of University Women (AAUW); a member of the Order of Eastern Star; past president and regional chairmen of the Houlton Regional Hospital Auxilary; and a lifetime member of the Houlton Garden Club. She is survived by her daughter Jean and husband James Cole;two grandchildren, Meredith and her husband Don Jesse od Middleton, Ohio; Ben Cole and his wife Crystal of Houlton; three great-grandchildren, Colby Ferguson Jesse and Faith Rebecca-Jean Jesse of Middleton, Ohio; Dawson James Cole of Houlton; and a very special friend, Jane Stiles of New Limerick. She was predeceased by her husband Lawrence; her sister Edith Gray; two grandchildren, Christoperand Melinda Cole.
