He is survived by his wife, Mary (Hogan) McKay; a daughter, Sandra Benton; a son, Wayne McKay; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Rodney and Peter McKay; and one sister, Glenna Scharon. He was predeceased by his parents,Allen "Mickey" and Dorothy (London) McKay and two brothers, David and Sonny.
