Bill O'Brien

Class of 1965

Bill was drafted into the US Army in Feb 66 and while in Munich, Germany made All Europe in basketball. He also traveled around Europe entertaining the troops playing tennis before crowds of 1000-3000 soldiers ---General to Private.

He was Northern Ky. University's first scholarship tennis player in 1972 and chose teaching tennis professionally as his career----35 years.

He has taught tennis in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl., Santa Monica, Ca., Lake Placid, N.Y., Lexington, Ky. and Flagstaff, Arizona.

In 1969, while living in New York, he worked for Ayn Rand, the writer philosopher and is a knowledgeable representative of her Philosophy to present day. He is proud that Holmes High School allowed him the academic freedom and thirst for knowledge of mind to keep him in touch with the hidden philosopher inside him. He points to Orland Hoskins as his primary mentor and educator.

He is a professional poet specializing in Romantic Love, New Age Angel, Christmas and Metaphysical---Nature poems.


Recently, he moved back to Covington, Ky. to semi-retire.
