About	Rachel Lorraine Woodall Jackson passed away peacefully on January 18, 2018, from a recently discovered, rapidly progressive form of cancer, surrounded by her loving family and in the arms of her twin sister. She was born in Vallejo California on April 23, 1946. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Verna Woodall, and husband, Billy Jackson. She leaves behind a twin sister, Angeline Whitney-Taylor (Richard), sister, Verna Waller (Bob), brother, John Woodall (Carol), nieces, Shonon Whitney, Stephanie Books, Jessica Knox, Katherine Knox, and nephews, Kevin Whitney and Rev Jesse Knox, and a host of loving cousins and friends. Rachel commenced her musical career at the very young age of four, singing duets with her twin sister, Angie.The twins soon advanced to becoming members of their Father’s church choir in Vallejo, and their talents developed throughout their early years due to the growing demand for appearances before local groups and organizations. Rachel’s professional career gained momentum when she, her twin sister and cousin, Yvonne Pierce, formed a singing group known as The New Horizon, and we’re selected as background singers to appear with The Spinners, touring the United States and the world for three years, appearing in a variety of concerts, television and special events. In 2015, Rachel retired to Palm Springs California, reuniting with her twin sister, where they had enormous joy singing duets together again. The twins performed at farmers markets in Palm Springs, Palm Desert, and La Quinta California, and private parties. Rachel also performed solo on keyboard and vocals at Kaiser Grille restaurant in Palm Desert. She lived an active life, made new friends, and loved every minute of her life in the Palm Springs area. Rachel touched the hearts and minds of many friends. She had close friends in many states who loved her because of her sense of humor, giving spirit, kindness, and willingness to do whatever she could do to help. She was a joy to everyone she met and will be greatly missed, and will remain in our hearts forever.
