About	Carla Jean McGruder, 61, Springfield, Mo., passed away at 5:35 a.m. Sunday, January 20, 2008, in Cox Walnut Lawn. Carla was born February 8, 1946, in Springfield to James H. and Georgia M. Wells Boyce. Carla attended Reed Middle School, Hillcrest High School, and Drummond Business College. She was a graphic artist for Associated Wholesale Grocers for 22 years and was a 45 year member of Washington Avenue Baptist Church. Carla married Leo Wayne McGruder Sr., on March 18, 1994. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Solomon Woods and two sisters, Mollie Evans and Stella Jackson. Carla is survived by her husband, Leo, of the home; two step-sons, Damon Simmons, Gary, Ind. and Leo W. McGruder, Springfield, Mo.; step-daughter Leandra McGruder, Jefferson City; nieces, Sheree Woods and Debra Cunningham, both of Springfield, and Rochelle Lewis, Lawton, Okla.; nephews, Michael and Tony Jackson, both of Springfield, Mo., Larry Snead, Phoenix, Ariz., Roy Lee Snead, Springfield, Mo., Sean Jackson, Columbia, and Carroll Snead, St. Louis. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 26, 2008, in Gorman Sharpf Brentwood Chapel with the Reverends James Robinson and Isaac Jenkins officiating.
